The E5-FP is a special version of the E5 Ethernet Time Clock. Like the E5, the E5-FP has a two line by 24 column LCD display and a 24-key membrane keypad for operator interaction, one of several ID card reading technologies and is uniquely equipped with a fingerprint reader used for validating that the employee corresponds to the ID number entered.

It typically has a built-in ID card reader to capture the employee ID number, although it is possible to use the keypad to enter the required ID number. The E5-FP connects to and communicates over a 10BaseT network using TCP/IP protocol (just as the E5 does). All of the operational flexibility found in the E5 is available in the E5-FP such as custom prompting sequences, custom data collection and validation, user defined scheduled alarms and relay out controls, and numerous other features.
